Generator

You may have already tried this, but you can flash the field. It's pretty easy and takes about ten minutes. Much easier with two people but can be done alone. I had a hell of a time getting the procedure but I eventually got it and wrote it down in my log books. Basically if you've put in a new/different generator you will probably need to flash the field. Let me know if you want the procedure. If it works, you know immediately

Original generators didn't generate much amperage. And essentially no amperage at idle. With electrical add-ons, like radios and lights and electronics, the amperage output is exceeded pretty quickly and won't keep the battery charged. The fix is to get an alternator.

I am new to Ercoupes and rusty all around, but am now part owner of a 415C We have been having a generator issue. So far we have tried two different generators and two regulators and still not getting enough amperage to charge the battery.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
