Larry, The C90 and 53 combo gave me 124 T/ airspeed 3500ft on a close to Std day that is 14 more than you what 101HP? However it is just how a Guy/Gal feels the best. Here at 4500' + I would go to the 48/9...

Don, when I own 5644F I had the 53 prop and loved It ! My friend and I both . over 225 lbs. never had T/O problems up to 2000 over sea level.( Fly in South California not many high places) A2s C90 with 53 pitch is the fastest of the Coupe family even the o- 200 with 100 HP. Warren

My question had been would you rather go a couple of mph faster or clear that tree at the end of the runway? A cruise prop will gain you a little speed, but not that much. I find the assurance of a good climb comforting. I have a 7149 on my C85 with the O200 crank STC and it’s perfect. Climbs great and cruises at 110 mph.

I have an Alon A2A with a McCauley 1B90CM7148 climb prop.  I many need servicing and a dynamic balance.  I was offered the option of repitching it to a cruise prop.  The Alon A2 equipment list says the standard prop is a 7150 with the 7148 and 7153 as options.  Is there any real speed advantage to the 7150 or 53?  What would the climb sacrifice be with the cruise props?
