This year, the EAA is spotlighting the "Class of 1947" aircraft that were born out of the post-WWII aviation boom. Because so many of our Ercoupes were built in 1946, I believe this is a natural fit for our club.

The Great 2026 Ercoupe Relay will be a cooperative effort to fly a special flag & logbook to all 48 contiguous states. The exact route and schedule will depend upon which of you are able to participate. I'll work with the relay fliers to create and coordinate a schedule. Ideally, the relay will begin and/or end at significant events such as the annual Ercoupe convention, Airventure, Sun n' Fun, etc. If that doesn't work out we should be able to at least pass the relay through those events while they're happening.

Two goals: First, to have fun and fly! Second, to get some publicity for the club. There are plenty of aviation publishers who love stories like this, and staging some of our relay handoffs at events could help get their attention.

RULES:
1. Relay Flights to be flown in an Ercoupe of any year or model.
2. Relay Flights to be full-stop landings.
3. Submit at least 1 photo of the flag being handed to you by the previous Relay Pilot.
4. Submit at least 1 photo of the flag at an airport in each state. The flag should be sharing the frame with "proof of location" such as an airport sign or famous landmark.
5. A special logbook will accompany the flag, Log all flights carrying the relay flag. You're encouraged to make notes for posterity.
6. Be safe and have fun!

I will be starting another thread to collect info from 'Coupers who would like to participate. Let's make it happen!
