Thanks. It seems to me an AV-30 is overkill if you just want a transponder. No sign of the transponder controlling AV-22 on the web site. Probably awaiting FAA approval. I’ll just keep my old KT-76 and tailBeacon. They seem to be working beautifully.

I spoke with uAvionix a year ago for clarification with the TailBeaconX.
The 30C and 30E control the transponder.
The 20E will control the transponder but is not certified.
The 20S (S = sensor) will not control the transponder because it is certified
under NORSEE (non-req safety equipment). It is certified as a back-
up display. .
The 20 (no letter) base model is a clock/timer only.
A 22 (no letter) was in the works. It would have only transponder control and a
clock/timer.

I’m curious - does the certified version of the uAvionix AV-20 support transponder control of the tailBeaconX? On their web page it does not mention it. I know the TSO’d AV-30 supports it and think the experimental/light sport version does (AV-20E) but I can’t find anywhere that the TSO’d version does.

i don’t expect to put this any time soon, but I’d like to understand my options.
