Appreciate the heads up Ronald, thank you. I am staying as far away from any Chinese made stuff as much as a Private tries to stay away from KP duty!
I did get a WWII era Bendix B-16 compass (Re-lumed and non-radioactive!) from AirCorps Depot (www.aircorpsdepot.com/). I did find an old Turn & Bank (refurbed non-radium also) and a venturi to go with it. That will be installed on the next Annual this January if all goes well. The search continues. I only need now is to find an older vintage Altimeter next.
Meantime I broke my port window closing it tonight, handle and a chunk of the window came off. So the wallet is going to be thinner come Monday morning. Ordering both windows. Will see if I can get both welts to add to the mix and knock them both out.

Original engine instruments were automotive. There are a number of suppliers of automotive instruments made in vintage styles. Flight instrument styles haven't changed much and you can still buy them, although the cheap ones are made in China and are of low quality. Probably better to rebuild an original if you have it. All the original instruments had radium dials so the numbers glowed in the dark. They stopped making those when the workers started developing cancer, so that is a feature you won't often see in restorations.

Afternoon everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well. Time to ramp up and start restoring in earnest. Where/how can I purchase the original instruments used back in '46? Goal is to return the panel to as original as possible.
Thanks!
