if you are looking for a measurement, there is none that I am aware of. You can try to tighten the nuts on the knee joint and see if that takes up the slack, if not, pull the shaft and inspect it and the bushings, A little side to side would probably be acceptable, one thing to remember, that the center of the axle to the center of the knee is a long lever arm, and a little movement at the knee will show up as a lot of movement at the axle.

I’m doing my first annual on a 415 c/d. In your answer, do you mean there should not be any lateral movement of the lower leg at the knee? Mine has some lateral play and I’m looking for how much is to much.

Thanks

Along the same lines, I have goodyear brakes and when I'm taxiing and apply the breaks there is a very noticeable shutter that vibrates through the whole plane. Any thoughts?

all you can do is go thru the gear and make sure none of the bushings are worn out, check the wheel bearings and gear mounting bolts. The reason you do not hear of main gear shimmy is a shimmy is a left right action, and the main gear is by design, up and down movement, There should be no left or right movement on the mains.
